Channel on Jalan Bendungan Hilir VII Normalized

The Central Jakarta Water Resources Sub-agency (SDA) is currently normalizing the drainage system on Jalan Bendungan Hilir VII, Tanah Abang.

We are aiming for a full completion by early May

This aims to improve water flow and mitigate potential flooding in the residential area.

Tanah Abang Water Resources Unit Head, Eli Menawan Sari explained that the project is a direct follow-up to the 2026 Bendungan Hilir Development Planning Forum (Musrenbang).

Channel Normalization on Jalan Limboto to Complete Mid February

"We've deployed a team of 10 'Blue Squad' personnel to conduct this normalization work," she stated, Friday (2/27).

Eli revealed that the 170-meter-long drainage system is being overhauled using 40x40 centimeter U-ditch concrete reinforcements. This upgrade is designed to significantly increase the channel's structural integrity and water flow capacity.

"Construction commenced last week, and we are aiming for a full completion by early May," she noted.

Jauhari (43), a local resident of Bendungan Hilir VII, lauded the Central Jakarta Water Resources Sub-agency’s prompt intervention in addressing community concerns.

Hopefully, the channel could accommodate a much larger volume of water, so our neighborhood is finally spared from flooding during heavy downpours," he stated.
